Points System

 

(Effective from 1 February 2009)

 

 The number of points attached to the Challenge Certificates obtained at each show is as follows:

 

1 to 2 dogs / bitches present in the Breed              = 10 points

3 dogs / bitches present in the Breed                     = 15 points

4 dogs / bitches & above present in the Breed      = 20 points

 

  1. The points for the Challeng Certficate winners ("Challenge Winner") will be based on the total number of exhibits of the same sex, present in the Breed at the show, beaten in accordance to the above schedule.

  2. Where the Challenge Winner takes the Best Of Breed (BOB), then he/she is entitled to the maximum 20 points, if his/her points were lesser than its CC points.

  3. Where there is/are no exhibit/s in the Specials Class, the Challenge Winners will compete for BOB. The BOB winner will be entitled to the same points as the opposite sex, if its points are lower than the other.

  4. When an exhibit from the Specials Class wins BOB, its 20 points will go towards its Grand Champion title.

  5. When there is only one exhibit in the breed, the Challenge Certificate points will be 10 and the dog/bitch will be eligible to compete for Best In Group.

  6. The maximum points that can be won at each Championship Show are 20 points.

  7. Subject to the Governing Council’s confirmation, the SKC Champion title shall be awarded when a dog/bitch has accumulated 60 points.

  8. These 60 points must have been awarded by at least 3 different judges.

  9. Subject to the Governing Council’s confirmation, the Grand Champion title shall be awarded when a dog or bitch has accumulated 200 points from Challenge Certificates and BOB and 1 Best In Show

Breed Winners Annual Award

 

(Effective from the 1st. Show of 2014) 

 Rules for the following Trophies: -

 

  1. The Trophies shall be offered for competition by the Singapore Kennel Club and shall be won by the exhibits securing the greatest number of points at FCI, SKC and AKU Championship Shows, affiliate clubs’ Championship Shows and SKC Specialty (Championship Shows) over a period of one year, corresponding with the financial year of the Singapore Kennel Club.

  2. The Trophies shall be held in perpetuity by the S.K.C. and cannot be won outright. A memento may be awarded each year to be retained by the owner of the winning dog.

  3. The S.K.C. Governing Council may in its absolute discretion allow the winner to retain custody of the trophy until 2 weeks before the end of the current year.

  4. The dog must have won at least one (01) Best Of Breed in order to be eligible for the award. (consistent with Grand Champion award).

  5. In the event of a tie there will be a count-back based on the number of Best Of Breed awards won, followed by the number of dogs beaten at the relevant shows where the Best of Breed awards are won.

  6. Points accumulated from affiliated Clubs will not count towards this award.

  7. There will be no awards in the breed categories, regardless of the number of points scored, unless the highest scoring dog / bitch of the breed has competed in at least 2 Championship shows during the year and beaten at least one other dog / bitch of the same breed on both occasions.

  8. The Governing Council of the S.K.C. reserves the right in any year to alter, delete or add to these rules as it deems fit. 

  9. Points shall be computed as follows and the points applicable being additive.

Reserve Best of Breed      = 10 points

Group Winners Annual Award

 

(Effective from the 1st. Show of 2014) 

Rules for the Group trophies are as follows:

 

  1. The Trophies shall be offered for competition by the Singapore Kennel Club and shall be won by the exhibits securing the greatest number of points at FCI, SKC and AKU Championship Shows, affiliate clubs’ Championship Shows and SKC Specialty (Championship Shows) over a period of one year, corresponding with the financial year of the Singapore Kennel Club.

  2. The Trophy shall be held in perpetuity by the SKC and cannot be won outright. A memento may be awarded each year to be retained by the owner of the winning dog.

Dog Of The Year Annual Award

Rules for the Dog Of The Year Annual Awards are as follows:

 

  1. The Trophies shall be offered for competition by the Singapore Kennel Club and shall be won by the exhibits securing the greatest number of points at FCI, SKC and AKU Championship Shows, affiliate clubs’ Championship Shows and SKC Specialty (Championship Shows) over a period of one year, corresponding with the financial year of the Singapore Kennel Club.
